When Columbia engaged us to overhaul its successful but dated admissions suite, it proved an ideal opportunity to help the admissions team tighten its messaging and highlight its key differentiators within the Ivy plus peer set. Alongside our creative partners at Moth Design, we immersed ourselves in all things Columbia: sitting in on classes, meeting with faculty, attending admitted student events, and exploring the neighborhood. We examined Columbia’s competitors, with a particular focus on how they targeted traditionally underrepresented groups and articulated their commitment to financial aid and accessibility.
Our creative strategy builds on two of Columbia’s undeniable strengths: deep intellectual curiosity and exploration exemplified by its famed Core Curriculum, and its location within the heart of New York City. Nowhere But Here is the messaging theme that embodies these differentiators. Anchored by a beautiful, 80-page flagship viewbook and a vibrant new admissions website, it reminds people that Columbia offers students a rich learning experience in the world’s greatest city—an education unlike any other.
